W.W.Sass!
Welcome to WednesdayWord Sass!
because.WORDS.are.SEXY!
For those of you who don’t know, I am a little…okay A LOT in love with the English language – I could drink at the fountain of words! So in honour of my love of The Dictionary, I have decided to share the love.
Each Wednesday I’ll be wheeling out a new word in my attempt to put the va va voom back into vocabulary!
We have such an ocean of choice and yet we stick to the same-same. Nothing wrong with that, but change is as good as a well-deserved vacation, so let’s click-it-in — you never know, it may just be FUN!
Let the word wave begin…
calliopean
[kuh-ly-uh-PEE-uhn]
Adjective meaning: piercingly loud
And used in a sentence…or two!
Although minute in stature, Adrienne Rich was calliopean in eloquence, and this generously erudite woman shone a sometimes unflattering but always searching light on the world she has recently exited.
Whimsical Wednesday to you, my lovelies!
Your WordMistress™ signing off.
