The First…

Indeed it is!  Happy 1st-day-of-the-month!  Happy 1st September!

It means…

♥Many of us are smiling w-i-d-e smiles at the promise of warmer weather.

♥Blooms!  Enough said.

♥The sweet fragrance of 5★ Jasmine, Moraya & Frangipani.

♥And if you started at the cusp of the New Year, perhaps even a baby!

Good times.

For me, I’m smiling because it’s my birthday month, & I get to Step-Up-To-September!  It is also a reminder that I have a much bigger Bloomin’List™ lurking somewhere amongst my digital detritus!  Nothing like a bit [or A LOT] of activity to keep one’s spirit alive!

So, to all of my PrettyPetticoats & BobbyBritches, may the Spring air be nothing short of sweeeeet for you in whatever you dream and do!

Step-Up-To-September

I’ve always had crazy ideas!  Some see the light of day & others, well let’s just say, are lazily banished to the basement.  I am so over that!  I want my babies to have a proper life, no matter how small; they deserve to see the sun!

Sometimes we start & stop something countless times.  We feel the burn of an idea & the intoxication of pure excitement – the world is ours!   Yes!  Right!  Bingo!  And then? Well, often nothing!  It fizzles into nada-land.  But you know what, that’s okay.  Nothing more or less to it.  We all do it, and we all have our reasons.

I am the Queen-Lulu of ideas simmering in Fizzle Town.  Am I going to beat myself into a piece of putty over it?  No. Not anymore.  I’ve chosen to just roll with it!  Sometimes it’s fun to have a bunch of pop-’n-fizzle in your life.  Ta da, there I said it!

There is a lot to be said for child-like enthusiasm,  conjuring up crazy notions – being Glasgow kissed by the biggest one!  Yes!

Keep doing it!  Welcome them, because when we begin it.  Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.  Somewhere within, something stirs;  Somewhere out there, something shifts.  And stuff happens!

So in the vein of pop-’n-fizzle, here is my POP!  And let’s not worry about the fizzle just yet….I am putting some of my babies out to bask in the newly arrived Spring sunshine.

Ladies & Gentlemen, I have an idea & it goes something like this…WELCOME to my Step-Up-To-September!

Winter contrasts…

Where would we be without the Light&Dark of life, and its myriad of in between shades?  In pretty-bland-land I would imagine!  So while the weather gods are taunting us & confusing the natural flow of our flora,  we are on the flip side, getting some pretty unique contrasts in one hit…welcome to Winter contrasts!

We are still in Winter, albeit the tail end.  But how exciting to have a little Spring starter to whet our appetite for the impending bloom of warmth?!

I was out on a walk recently, and on my way home, delighted my senses when I spotted Spring!  Of course I was compelled to stop and smell the flowers – hahaha – so fragrant, so inviting;  A little reminder of the promise ahead of warm days, new beginnings, lighter steps et al.

I love Winter & I never lament her presence;  I enjoy it just as much as the more-favoured Summer sister.  I was just struck by the wonders of nature, & equally a little shocked that our fiddling with the wonders of nature can cause such sweet mayhem!

We do our best to be gracious about our earthly input – we also do our best to see the good in destruction.  This is the nature of Light&Dark, this is the nature of contrasts.  And our nature is to ride the tide of murky waters – it’s just that, natural – but let’s not fall in step with doom-and-gloom.  Let’s do something deliciously UNnatural, instead, & be buoyed by it all – the expected & unpredictable;  sweet satiety & the sometimes-shambles in our head;  the disappointment & the joy;  the irreversible & the hope-in-small-increments.  YES, let’s, let’s, let’s…just get all messy hands as we fix what we can, and relish what we have!
